Caring for children 3 to Kindergarten
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the assigned classroom, meeting all state and YMCA standards
Implements the classroom curriculum in a developmentally appropriate manner, meeting the individual physical, emotional and intellectual needs of the children
Provides careful, attentive supervision and is alert at all times.
Participates with the children in opportunities to use their large muscles both indoors and outdoors with consideration for each child's physical and developmental capabilities
Provides a classroom which exhibits high standards in cleanliness and presentation
Promotes a team concept through positive approach to supervision, communication and interactions with others.
Facilitates a positive classroom environment and development of self control in children through the use of positive guidance techniques: expectations match and respect children's developing capabilities. Demonstrates appropriate decision-making abilities
Upholds state and YMCA child protection policies, child abuse, and neglect guidelines which includes proper reporting as mandated by the state
Communicates daily with parents via daily sheets, phone calls or conferences

Ensures the program meets the highest standards of excellence

Upholds and exemplifies the YMCA's principals and provides quality customer service

Performs all other duties as assigned by the Early Childhood Director

Minimum Job Requirements

Education: CDA or a degree in Early Childhood or related field is preferred

Experience: Two years experience working in a early childhood setting teaching, subbing, or assisting is preferred.

Other Requirements: FBI/BCI records check, employee medical statement, employee orientation

  • Approximately 25 hours per week, and have a flexible schedule.

  • You must have prior experience working with children and love the fast pace of children.

We are currently accepting applications for our Before and After School Child Care Program that we have in most of the Lakota Early Childhood and Elementary Schools. Minimum requirements are:

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Complete a background check.

  • Complete a medical check.

  • High School Diploma.

Hours are from 7:00a to the start of the school and after school ends to 6:00p. You must enjoy working with school aged children as we provide a fun and safe environment for the children. The Lakota Family YMCA is seeking a Part Time Welcome Center Associates to serve as the front line person to greet and assist the members, visitors, and clients. Primary responsibilities include promoting, selling, and registering membership, events, and programs, answering phone calls and providing accurate information to all inquiries in a friendly and professional manner. The Welcome Center is the main hub of the organization, therefore, the position will serve as the center of communication and support for the overall operations and member service functions.

Work schedule: Two - three days a week between the hours of 3:00p.m. - 10:00pm Hours/Days may vary.


  • Be able to work independently
  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Minimum of one year experience in customer service and/or sales
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
