Accessible Swim Lessons

This program is designed for swimmers ages 3-9 with a developmental disability to learn the basics of water safety and water acclimation in a supportive environment. Each instructor will work with two child-parent or caregiver pairs to teach safe swim practices that build comfort in the water. Classes will include up to ten children in total and feature resources such as a sensory tent and adaptive equipment to support individual needs. While one-on-one instruction will be provided, an instructor will also guide the group through a range of water skills during the 30-minute lesson.

Program Disclosures:

At this time our facility does not offer a wheelchair lift or zero depth entry for the space of the lessons. Students and caregivers must be comfortable navigating four steps with a railing to enter and exit the pool.

Child watch will be available throughout the session, but space is limited and offered on a first -come, first-serve basis; non-members of the facility must pay a $2/child/day fee with a maximum time allowed for the service of 90 minutes.
