My name is Benjamin Carnahan, and I am the Aquatics Director at the Lakota Family YMCA. I grew up swimming for the Northern Suburban Swim League here in Cincinnati, and also participated in the Varsity swimming and water polo programs at Princeton High School, where I graduated in 2008. Following high school, I traveled to Chicago to pursue a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, after which I worked in several industries in Chicago, Minneapolis, and Cincinnati, including education, special education, parks and recreation, and high school athletics before coming to work for the Lakota YMCA.

My work as the Aquatics Director ranges from recruiting and training lifeguards to scheduling pool activities and events, organizing aquatics programs, and maintaining the aquatics' facilities. I enjoy planning and organizing aquatics events for YMCA members, as well as working in a diverse, team-oriented culture whose collective goal is to offer services to the local community. The best part of my job is being able to work with the Lakota YMCA staff, many of whom have grown up participating in programs here and who are now working to give their experiences back to the new generation.
