Part-Time Positions Available

We are currently accepting applications for our Before and After School Child Care Program that we have in most of the Lakota Early Childhood and Elementary Schools. Minimum requirements are:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Complete a medical check
  • Complete a background check
  • High School Diploma.

Hours are from 7:00a to the start of the school and after school ends to 6:00p. You must enjoy working with school-aged children as we provide a fun and safe environment for the children. This is a part-time position up to 25 hours per week. We run the school year and follow the Lakota School District calendar. For more information, please contact Lindsay Miller.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

ACTIVITY DIRECTOR

Pay is $12 - $13/hour.

Can you promote positive character values in a caring environment while learning how to lead youth activities such as arts & crafts, games, sports, and swimming? If so, a YMCA summer camp experience is an invaluable life opportunity. You will learn how to work with and lead others, all while making a difference in your community.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise program participants in camp programs.
  • Plan & implement program activities that are culturally relevant & developmentally appropriate.
  • Maintain safety & cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents & staff.
  • Follow YMCA policies & procedures, including those related to medical & disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be available summer 2024, with trainings beginning in April/May.
  • Must be available M-F between the hours of 7:00 am - 6:00 pm, for an 8-hour shift daily.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp setting.
  • CPR & First Aid certifications must be obtained/maintained throughout employment.

Must be at least 18 years of age by June 1, 2023 and enrolled or graduated from an accredited college or university.  You must preferably have at least one year experience in a summer camp program.  You may be promoted from within Camp Arrowhead.  Activity Directors are responsible for an assigned group of campers and will plan and direct specific activities.  Advanced lesson plans are required to be turned into the Camp Directors one week prior to the activity.

 

CAMP COUNSELOR

Pay is $11-$12 /hour

Responsibilities:

  • Shares responsibility for the leadership and guidance of a group of campers.
  • Some activity planning may be required.
  • You will also assist Activity Directors in implementing activities.
  • Maintain safety & cleanliness standards.
  • Follow YMCA policies & procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Maintain positive relationships with campers, parents, & staff.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2024.
  • Must be available summer 2024, with trainings beginning in May.
  • Must be available M-F between the hours of 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, for an 8-hour shift daily.

ASSISTANT CAMP DRECTOR

Pay is $13-$14.50/hour.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Assistant Camp Director is responsible for assisting the camp director with the day-to-day general functioning of Camp Arrowhead. They will take over the operations of the Day Camp when the Director is unavailable. They will maintain a good working relationship with staff and the families in the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To promote good personal relationships between campers.       
  • To be alert, attentive, safety conscious and ready to go each day.
  • To lead and work with others, assigned activities and other group events.
  • Running daily staff meetings when Camp Director is not on site.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other staff members and families.
  • Work with the Camp Director to create a safe and fun environment for all children and staff in the program.
  • To lead staff during offsite fieldtrips and handle any issues that arise.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Crayon Club
All Day Child Care

PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE

We are currently accepting applications for our Crayon Club Child Care Center.

  • You must be 18 years of age, complete a background check, medical check and have at least a high school diploma.
  • Approximately 25 hours per week, and have a flexible schedule.
  • You must have prior experience working with children and love the fast pace of children.
